Chapter Six

"Coming!" Theia calls from inside her apartment, the sweet sound of her voice making me smile. Hell, who am I kidding? Everything about her has me reacting the same way. I'm addicted to this woman something fierce.

She didn't work yesterday, and the offices were closed today. I haven't seen her since Wednesday. I'm going out of my fucking mind with impatience. It took every ounce of strength I had to keep from driving over here last night to watch her get herself off. We had phone sex again instead.

If I'm not inside her soon, I'm not going to be responsible for the damage I cause. I've wanted a lot of shit in my life. Growing up the way I did, all I did was want—family, a home, normalcy. After Sudan, I would have traded anything to go back and do it over. To be the hero people call me and to get those kids out of there safely. But nothing compares to how goddamn badly I want this sunflower splayed out on my bed while I'm fucking my way into her soul.

She already owns mine. I plan to possess hers too.

She texted me a few times today…mostly to ask me how I know so much about her. We both know the answer to that question though. I think she just wants to hear me admit that I've been stalking her for months. I plan to tell her. But not until she sees the house.

I need her to know that I can provide for her. That she'll be safe with me.

I didn't know her daddy. But I know how fiercely she loves him and how intensely she misses him. I'm guessing he was the kind of man who wanted the best for his daughter. I intend to give her that. Every fucking day for the rest of her life.

I spent most of the day out at the house, trying to hurry shit along. I've been pissing off the contractor since I hired him, but I don't give a fuck about that. This is a job to him. It's my entire future. This is where Theia will spend the rest of her life. I'm not willing to accept anything less than perfection for her.

She grew up constantly in motion, moving from base to base. Like me, she never stayed in one place for long. She never had a chance to put down roots and watch them grow. I see the longing in her eyes when she looks at Liberty and Killian. She wants that life for herself so badly…someone to grow old with, somewhere to grow old. I'll move heaven and hell to give it to her, regardless of how the contractor feels about it.

I've rushed every part of the process that can be rushed, greasing palms along the way. But we're still a solid two months from completion. I can't wait two months to make her mine. I was done for the first time I touched her. For months, I've been holding myself in check, trying to do this right.
